Solvent Adhesives and Inks

High VA EVA for ink

Evatane 40-55 is the highest vinyl acetate grade in the Evatane range, at about 40%. That high VA content makes it markedly more polar and more soluble than the lower-VA grades, which is exactly what solvent-based adhesive and ink formulators need.

Property Profile

  • VA 40% (39-41%) — high polarity and solubility.
  • MFI 55 (50-60) — easy dissolution and mixing.
  • Density 0.960 g/cm³, melting point 55 °C, Shore A 50 with slip.
  • Soft, flexible, transparent films after solvent casting.

Why High VA Works Here

The polarity of 40-55 lets it dissolve cleanly in common esters, aromatics and ketones, giving low-viscosity solutions with strong wetting on films and foils. In printing inks it contributes tack and gloss; in solvent adhesives it provides flexible, peelable bonds.

Typical Uses

Solvent-based laminating adhesives, flexographic and gravure ink binders, flexible foam and tackifier modification.
